The HC-SR501 is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor module that can be used with an Arduino board. It detects motion by sensing changes in infrared radiation levels in its field of view.

The module has three pins: VCC (power supply), OUT (digital output), and GND (ground). The OUT pin will output a high signal (3.3V or 5V) when motion is detected, and a low signal when there is no motion.

To use the HC-SR501 with an Arduino, connect the VCC pin to a 5V power source, the GND pin to GND on the Arduino, and the OUT pin to a digital input pin on the Arduino. Then, in your Arduino code, you can use the digitalRead() function to read the state of the input pin and determine if motion has been detected.

The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted using the potentiometer on the module. You can also adjust the delay time, which is the amount of time the output will remain high after motion has been detected, by adjusting the jumper on the module.
